BombayThis cat breed is a man-made breed. The Bombay was created by breeding a Burmese to a black American Shorthair back in 1958. It did not receive championship status until 1976. The Bombay looks very much like a small black panther with their black shinning coats and large round, glowing copper eyes. The only accepted colour for show purposes is black and the mature cat (4yrs and above) should indeed be black to the roots. The Bombay have excellent appetities and are generally a very healthy cat breed. They have a sweet disposition and are very mellow. They make excellent pets.
