Burmese

All modern day Burmese cats can trace their ancestry back to a Tonkinese, Wong Mau, which was brought to the USA in 1930 by Dr J Thompson. Early Burmese were different from todays as they had longer heads and bodies and it wasn't until 1953 that the breed was given full championship status. The burmese is a pointed cat and is recognised in Sable, Blue Sepia, Chocolate and Cream. The overall impression of the ideal Burmese is a medium size with good muscular development.

The Burmese is a cat breed well known for its great adaptability. They are as comfortable living in a rural or city setting. They are very calm and easy to care for. Grooming is only occasionaly required and they seem to prefer a rubdown from their owners hand ! They do make excellent pets
